This was probably the best place that we stayed during our six and a half week visit to Sri Lanka. Sadly we only spent two nights at the hotel in a huge beach hut with a gorgeous balcony from which you could see the sea as well as the surrounding jungle. Our hut had chairs and sofas to sit on as well as a sofa, table and chairs on the balcony. Falling asleep to the sounds of the sea was delightful. The weather was as expected rather unpredictable in February but we enjoyed lying on the beach and walking along the beaches in the welcome sea breezes, even if the sea was too rough for swimming. Our routine was to swim in the pool and then move to the beach. We found the pool slightly oppressive in its jungliness and proximity to the restaurant, although it was very attractive. The food was excellent, especially the 'jumbo prawns' and French fries.
