For finicky travelers and eaters, this is a remote area so food is delivered weekly on a Monday according to staff. The walk to the beach is pleasant but 4km - we totally underestimated the distance. Out of the entire extraordinary experience, I would recommend the lodge to provide fluffy bath robes just to make it cozy in the cold evenings. Otherwise, the room, view, service and experience were spectacular.

Shipwreck lodge was a perfect place to stay, thanks to Charles and his colleagues... The location was unbelievably good and so was the service. We had a health issue and it was under control in no time, thanks to the staff of the Shipwreck Lodge...

Amazing !! This is a very special place. Everything from the design of the cabins , the warm and knowledgable staff, attention to detail , good food and those special touches you can only find when the whole lodge is built and managed by a team with a real passion for what they do The activities are well planned and thought out - it’s hard to describe the experience of the drive up the riverbed where we saw many animals and birds , not to mention the desert elephant , followed by a wonderful lu... The quad bike drive up the dunes was a blast, followed up by a well presented dinner just completed the day. Being so remote brings amazing benefits , the ability to disconnect from our “always online” day to day life, the lack of light pollution makes the stars brighter and at night you can “hear” the silence, the two nights I spent at Shpwreck I slept incredibly well - partly the comfort of the cabin and beds but just as important the real peace of the place Absolutely this lodge should be on anyone’s bucket list of places to visit and definitely somewhere I will revisit
